The idioms are underlined. Use the context to explain their meanings

e.g.

1.    When Martin first moved to New York, he was very green. He hadn’t been outside of his own country before and he didn’t know much about the world.

Green – innocent, naïve, inexperienced

2. I tried to run for my train last night but tripped and fell. I am now black and blue all over and I hurt!

3. I caught the red eye to get here this morning. I left Los Angeles at 10 last night and got into New York at 5 this morning. I’m exhausted!

There is never ‘a may be situation’, for example when he saw a woman stealing he said she should be punished; he wouldn’t even consider the fact that she had five children, was homeless and starving. He said she is wrong and that was that!
